Transfer Updates: Saka signs new Arsenal deal; Sane to Bayern & more

Arsenal’s and England youth international winger, Bukayo Saka, who has made 33 first-team appearances for the Gunners so far this season has penned a new long term deal at the club.

The 18-year-old, who came through the club’s academy, has made a major impact during the current season after making his debut in the Europa League in 2018.

The versatile player’s previous deal was due to expire next summer, leading to reports he could leave.

Saka tweets: “Arsenal is my team. I’m so happy to finally announce my contract extension.

Arsenal’s technical director Edu says: “This is so important for us as we move forward as a club.

This is something everyone involved wanted to happen and we are delighted that Bukayo has signed a new long-term contract.”

Arsenal’s boss, Mike Arteta, also has this to says: “Bukayo is a talented and intelligent young player.

He has impressed me with his work ethic and attitude to learn and adapt, and it has paid off in his performances. I am excited to continue working with him to develop him further, and for him to help us achieve our goals.”

Bayern Munich agree £54.8m fee for Leroy Sane

Manchester City’s forward, Leroy Sane, has agreed a 5 year deal with German club Bayern Munich after rejecting a new deal at City.

Bayern has agreed a £54.8m fee with Manchester City for Leroy Sane with the Bundesliga champions set for an initial fee of £44.7m (€49m) with a series of performance and trophy-related add-ons eventually.

City will also take 10 per cent of any profit made by the German club should they sell Sane in the future.

The 24-year-old has continually been linked with a move back to his homeland, Germany, which has seen City give up almost any hope of negotiating a new contract after nearly two years of talks with the Germany international.

It is also believed that the winger will get double the wages he was being offered by City to stay at the club with Bayern set to pay the player around £20m per year.

Leroy Sane has only just returned from a cruciate ligament knee injury suffered in the Community Shield win over Liverpool back in August and was set to enter the final year of his contract at the club.

Bayern Munich has also announced the capture of young new talent, Tanguy Nianzou Kouassi from Paris Saint Germain on a four-year contract.

The 18-year-old plays primarily as a centre back and has made six Ligue 1 appearances. He has played for France at youth level but is also eligible to play for Ivory Coast.

    • Back to normal? I doubt it. We’re human playing normal because it makes us feel better. My surprise is that the transfer price are still high. So, I guess the clubs are optimistic fans returning to stadiums.
