Tottenham Hotspur has agreed a deal to sign Real Madrid left-back Sergio Reguilon with the player said to be undergoing a medical in the Spanish capital on Thursday.
Reguilon, who was on loan at Sevilla last season, was named the best left-back in La Liga for his performances.
Real Madrid have deemed him surplus to requirements as they have enough players including Brazil international Marcelo and France’s Ferland Mendy playing in the same position currently at the club, and so keen to sell Reguilon to raise funds to balance the books at the club.

Reguilon could be joined at Spurs by Real team-mate Gareth Bale, as the Welshman arrived at the club’s training ground on Thursday morning with a deal close to being agreed.
Both players would certainly fly to London once their medicals are completed and terms are agreed to.
Manchester United, Chelsea, and Everton were previously linked with signing Reguilon, with Everton making an £18m bid for the defender back in July.
Spurs head coach, Jose Mourinho, is keen on strengthening his squad after they started the 2020/21 campaign on a disappointing 1-0 defeat to Everton.
Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg joined from Southampton and Matt Doherty arrived from Wolves earlier in the transfer window, but the signings of Bale and Reguilon will certainly appease both the club’s manager and supporters.
