It was a glorious weekend of football in Seria A as teams battle to maintain or improve their standings on the league table.
Milan wins away at Napoli to maintain their top spot on the Seria A table
Zlatan Ibrahimovic continued his fine form in front of goal with a brace to help AC Milan to a first win in 10 years at the Sao Paulo Stadium, preserving their unbeaten start to the season.
The 39-year-old scored his 9th and 10th goals of the season before being forced to leave the field in the second half, with that seemed like a hamstring injury.
Dries Mertens pulled one back for the home side just after the hour mark, but it was too little, too late for Genaro Gattuso’s side as their hopes of a comeback suffered a blow two minutes later when on-loan Chelsea midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko received a red card.
Napoli were also without the services of summer signing Victor Osimhen who got injured his shoulder playing for Nigeria during the international break.
Norwegian forward Jens Petter Hauge wrapped up the win for Milan in added time with his first Serie A goal to put the game to sleep at 3-1 in favour of the visitors.
Final Result: Napoli 1-3 AC Milan
Lukaku’s brace help Inter to win against Torino
Elsewhere, Inter Milan overturned a two-goal deficit to beat Torino 4-2 at the San Siro.
Simone Zaza put the visitors ahead in first-half injury time before Christian Alsaldi doubled their advantage from a spot-kick in the 62nd minute.
Alexis Sanchez pulled one back for Antonio Conte’s men with 64 minutes on the clock, before setting up Romelu Lukaku for the equaliser just three minutes later.
Lukaku completed his brace from a penalty kick to put Inter ahead for the first time, and on came Lautaro Martinez with Inter’s 4th of the night.
Final Result: Inter Milan 4-2 Torino
No nonsense Roma put three past Parma
Over at the Stadio Olympico, AS Roma continued their fine vein of form with an emphatic 3-0 victory over visitors Parma.
Borja Mayoral opened the scoring for Roma on the 28th-minute, before Henrikh Mkhitaryan scored twice in eight first-half minutes to complete the rout.
Roma have now won each of their last four games in all competitions.
Final Result: AS Roma 3-0 Parma
Cristiano with a fine brace in Juventus’ home win against Cagliari
On Saturday, Cristiano Ronaldo’s first-half brace secured a 2-0 win over Cagliari for reigning champions, Juventus.
The victory took Andre Pirlo’s team tally to 16 points, four short of leaders AC Milan but the Old Lady will be encouraged by Ronaldo’s form of late.
