Following the termination of the contract of Arsenal’s dinosaur mascot Gunnersaurus, which received lots of backlash afterward, the Arsenal mascot is back at the Emirates to the delight of Mesut Ozil and many fans around the world.
However, it is unclear who is now playing the popular dinosaur mascot.
For the past 27 years, Jerry Quy has portrayed Gunnersaurus but was reportedly made redundant as part of a job-cutting scheme implemented by Arsenal in the summer.
Wide criticism followed with Arsenal’s midfielder Mesut Ozil offering to pay Quy’s wages in full.
On Tuesday at Arsenal’s home ground, Gunnersaurus tweeted a picture of himself and wrote: “Back at Emirates Stadium today“.

And in less than an hour after being posted, the post received over 40,000 likes with many fans appearing to believe the mascot itself had been set not to return and welcoming him back.
Ozil responded: “Happy to see you back where you belong.”
An Arsenal spokesperson also said: “As we’ve always said Gunnersaurus is an important part of Arsenal and a popular figure for our fans around the world.
“Gunner never went away but due to the virus restrictions there have been limited opportunities for him to appear in public.”
Why isn’t anyone talking about how cute the Mascot looks??
Won’t laugh at this man because the government is looking for scape goats. Not sure I trust our justice system. In any case, what about other people who also lost stuff. This is a Pandora box…
So stupid Arsenal did not accept Mesut Ozi;’s offer to pay the mascot and in stead let him go? Shame on them. Anyway, good for them for rectifying the problem at last.
Lol wawow cant wait o…
