Europa League draw: Arsenal gets favourable draw for the group stage

Arsenal have been handed a fair and favourable draw in this season’s Europa League draw, which was conducted on Friday, 2nd of October 2020.

Mikel Arteta and his boys are in the same group with Dundalk, who qualified to reach the group stages for just the second time in their history.

Dundalk defeated KI Klaksvík 3-1 in Dublin on Thursday to make the cut, and are joined by Rapid Vienna, and Molde in Group B.

Celtic have been handed a tough Europa League group alongside AC Milan and Lille in Group H with Sparta Prague making the final team in the group.

Tottenham, who trashed Israeli side Maccabi Haifa 7-2 to qualify, face trips to Bulgaria, Austria and Belgium to play Ludogorets, LASK and Royal Antwerp respectively.

Steven Gerrard’s Rangers side will again travel to Portugal to face Benfica after being paired with another Portuguese side last season in Porto, as well as Standard Liege and Lech Poznan.

Leicester also looks set to meet a Portuguese opposition after being drawn in Group G alongside Braga, AEK Athens and Ukrainian side Zorya Luhansk.

Before the draw, Inter Milan striker Romelu Lukaku was named UEFA Europa League Player of the season 2019/20 after scoring seven goals in the tournament last season.
