Manchester United vs Luton Town
Marcus Rashford and Mason Greenwood helped a much-changed Manchester United overcome Luton Town 3-0 with late goals at Kenilworth Road to reach the Carabao Cup fourth round.
Ten changes were made by the manager of the side, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, to the side that was beaten 3-1 at home to Crystal Palace in their opening Premier League game.
One of those changes, Juan Mata, opened the scoring from the penalty spot to break the deadlock just before the break.
High-flying Championship side, Luton, came close to an equaliser shortly after but debutant Dean Henderson brilliantly kept out Tom Lockyer’s header before Eric Bailly was on the line to clear the defender’s rebound.

Solskjaer introduced Marcus Rashford and Mason Greenwood in the closing stages of the match and the extra quality told as the pair combined for Rashford to double United’s lead in the 88th minute and there was still time for Greenwood to grab his first of the season in additional time.
United will face a trip to either Brighton or Preston in the fourth round.

Watford stunned by Newport County to exit the Carabao Cup
Newport County has now added Watford to their emerging list of recent cup scalps as they forged on to the fourth round of the Carabao Cup.
It’s the first time in their history that they would reach that milestone and it happened after a 3-1 win over the Championship side.
Watford, this season,9 were unbeaten in three outings before facing Newport but conceded twice in the opening 30 minutes against the League Two side.
Watford’s new Serbian boss Vladimir Ivic sent out a team showing 10 changes from the one that drew 0-0 with Sheffield Wednesday in the Championship last weekend.
Tristan Abrahams opened the scoring on the night to add to his two goals in the first-round win over Swansea, as he sent Dan Bachmann the wrong way from the penalty spot.
Newport kept up the pressure and skipper, Joss Labadie, doubled the lead in the 28th minute after a defensive mix-up.
Watford were a much-improved side after the break and pressed forward more, but they conceded again in the 65th minute when a wayward pass from Dan Phillips across his box found the Amond in acres of space.
West Ham hammered Hull City 5-1
West Ham United didn’t seem fazed with the positive Covid-19 test results for Manager David Moyes and two players as they put five goals past Hull City in the Carabao Cup.
Issa Diop and Josh Cullen were initially named in the team to face the League One Tigers but the line-up was changed with both players omitted 15 minutes later, and when the teams came out, there was no sign of Moyes, with assistant Alan Irvine taking charge.
West Ham released a statement saying: “West Ham United can confirm that David Moyes, Issa Diop and Josh Cullen have returned positive tests for Covid-19.
“The club’s medical team were informed of the test results as the team were at London Stadium preparing for this evening’s Carabao Cup third-round tie against Hull City.
“The manager and both players immediately left the stadium and have returned home.
“All three, who are asymptomatic, will now follow Public Health England and Premier League guidelines and protocols.
“Everyone at West Ham United send their best wishes to David, Issa and Josh.”
This third-round tie, however, went ahead as scheduled with Sebastien Haller and Andriy Yarmolenko both scoring twice and Robert Snodgrass also on target in a comfortable victory.
Brentford sends Premier League side, West Bromwich Albion out of the Carabao Cup
David Raya proved to be Brentford’s Carabao Cup hero as the Bees sent West Brom out on penalties after a 2-2 draw at The Hawthorns.
The Brentford goalkeeper saved Grady Diangana’s penalty in the shootout as the visitors progressed 5-4 on spot-kicks.

Baggies skipper Hal Robson-Kanu had struck twice from the spot in the second half either side of a brilliant overhead kick from Emiliano Marcondes.
Marcus Forss – a former Baggies trainee – then scored his own penalty to force a shootout.
Raya proved very efficient as he saved Diangana’s effort – the only miss – before Christian Norgaard scored to send Brentford through.
Brentford would entertain either Fulham or Sheffield Wednesday next week in the fourth round.
