Netflix has released the trailer for the action thriller film, “The Last Mercenary”, starring famed action figure Jean-Claude Van Damme.
Van Damme turns 61 on his birthday in 2021 but the film’s trailer shows that the actor is still in fine fighting form.
According to the premise on the Netflix YouTube channel, the Belgian actor plays a mysterious secret agent who has been denounced by his government. The film takes place in France, where he has to clear his son’s name, who has been framed by an international terrorist group.

French actress Miou-Miou and actor Eric Judor also star in the film. Other members of the cast include Alban Ivanov, Assa Sylla and Samir Decazza.
Van Damme’s “The Last Mercenary” will be streaming on Netflix on 30 July 2021. This will be his first film since 2018 when he starred in “Kickboxer: Retaliation,” “Black Water,” and “The Bouncer.”
Anyone familiar with the mockery that the actor has faced in the French-speaking world will understand why him playing a lead in a French-language film is a good addition to his 37-year-old career.
