However, the executives at Disney stayed quiet and provided no information as to whether Deadpool would join or when he would.
Now, however, with the acquisition of 20th Century Fox by Disney, it appears that Deadpool is about to join the Marvel Cinematic Universe or the MCU as it is more known.
During his appearance on Live with Ryan and Kelly, Ryan Reynolds was asked about the future of Deadpool and the plans in motion for the action hero, whose films earned a collective $1.5 million at the box office, despite their R-rating.
“Yeah we’re working on it right now with the whole team. We’re over at Marvel now, which is like the big leagues all of a sudden. It’s kinda crazy. So yeah, we’re working on it,” he replied.
No further details were supplied, but this is great news, especially for fans of the action hero. If Disney is willing to include Deadpool in the MCU, it likely means his future with the production company is bright.
We’re speculating that despite Deadpool’s insistence several times that he works alone, we might end up seeing him as one of the avengers. Fingers crossed, right?
While there’s no definite release date for the Deadpool film, Marvel has some dates set for mystery movies in 2022 and 2023.
