Cable channel Lifetime has announced that it is making a film about Megxit and it will be titled “Harry & Meghan: Escaping The Palace!”.
This makes it the third film that the American company will be making about the couple with its previous ones being “A Royal Romance” (2018) and “Becoming Royal” (2019). The company also revealed that it has begun casting, as it has never used the same actors for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex characters.
Parisa Fitz-Henley starred as Meghan, with Murray Fraser as Harry in “A Royal Romance” and Tiffany Smith portrayed Meghan while Charlie Field played Harry in “Becoming Royal”.
“Harry & Meghan: Escaping The Palace!” is set to be released in the fall of 2021, that is anytime from the last week of September this year. At this time, the company has not provided details about the film.
It, however, teases that it “will reveal what really happened inside the palace that drove Harry and Meghan to leave everything behind in order to make a future for themselves and their son Archie.”

Lifetime also adds that the film will offer “details about Meghan’s growing isolation, the couple’s disappointment that those in power were not defending them against the press’s attacks, and Harry’s fear that history would repeat itself and he would not be able to protect his wife and son from the same forces that caused his mother’s untimely death.”
These hints were also given in the couple’s viral interview with Oprah Winfrey which aired on 7 March 2021. “Harry & Meghan: Escaping the Palace will also reveal the private family feuds between Will and Harry, Kate and Meghan, and Harry with Will and Charles, that lead to the ultimate break from the royal ties,” the TV network continues.
Menhaj Huda will direct the film while scriptwriting duties fall to Scarlett Lacey with Merideth Finn and Michele Weiss serving as executive producers. These four also make up the creative team for the first two films the studio made about the famous royal figures.
There is no mention of either Prince Harry or Meghan Markle having anything to do with this film making process.
