Nigerian actor and philanthropist, Williams Uchemba, has announced that he adopted an 18-year-old furniture maker with plans to sponsor his education.
According to the post, the boy he identified as Demola hopes to become an economist in the future and he is willing to help make it happen.
According to Uchemba, Demola’s smartness caught his attention. He said he invited the boy over to his house and after getting to know more about him, decided to adopt him and sponsor his education as well.
Taking to his Instagram page, he writes: “A few days ago I went to a furniture store to make some furniture for my ongoing projects and when they took me to the workshop, I saw this young man Demola who was one of the carpenters but as an apprentice.
“I asked him some questions and realized that he is a very smart young boy, so I invited him to my house to know more about him.
“He is 18 years of age, has finished secondary school (with good grades) and would love to study Economics in the University but can’t further his education because he doesn’t have a sponsor to put him through school.
“So today I decided to adopt Demola not only to sponsor him through school but to mentor him with the knowledge and other information that has made me who I am today, till he becomes the man God destined him to be. Say hello to my new son.”

This is coming not long after the actor put smiles on the face of a poor Nigerian family by giving them a new home.

Really, I really also need ur help Sir., I am final year student, and I am the one training myself in university.. Noun Open University,…… I supposed to have been graduated but due to no one to support me, I have missed two years… Because of school fees..
But, now, where I was doing my IT, because I studied Hospitality Management… All About, Hotel Management… After my IT, was retained, last year, but since March, till now, no work no salary…. Over 7months now… Me and my poor widow mother is staying…and I am the one caring for her….. here in Lagos no food money, No rent money… My rent expired,since july my landlady is on my neck….. In fact is not really easy for us…. I don’t really know what to do, I really need urgent help from you Sir. Please Big Bro. I think your question is legit but I don’t have the answer to it. I don’t think there’s an age limit. Demola is 18 and is, therefore, an adult. His parents’ (id he has any) consent will not be needed. But to adopt an adult? That deserves serious consideration but whatever makes the parties concerned happy.
