Tyrese Gibson and his wife, Samantha, have agreed to separate and divorce after four years of marriage according to a joint statement they released on Tuesday, 29 December 2020.
The couple shared the news of their separation on Tyrese Gibson’s Instagram page.
“We have decided to make a statement of a painful and significant development in our lives. After much thought, consideration, and prayer, We unfortunately have made the difficult decision to officially separate & divorce,” it read.
The post contained a picture of Tyrese kissing Samantha on a red carpet. It continued; “Our intention is to remain the best of friends & strong coparents. We feel incredibly blessed to have found each other and deeply grateful for the 4 years we have been married to each other.”
In the statement, the couple mentioned that they still loved and respected each other. They also claim to cherish the memories they have shared during their time together.
In conclusion, Tyrese and Samantha wrote: “We would really appreciate your most sincere prayers and to respect our privacy at this time as we deal with the reality of where we are.”

They share a 2-year-old daughter named Soraya who was born after they got married in February 2017.
Two hours after sharing the statement on his page, Tyrese posted a personal one in which he asks the question; “How can we naturally know how to BE something we were never raised by?”
He referred to how many grew up in broken homes without good examples of a husband, wife or father. He thanked Samantha Gibson for the five years they had spent together.
Additionally, Tyrese Gibson seems to have the hope of them reuniting again. He ends his own personal note by saying; “I pray we leave the door open because the God that we serve is a mountains mover and can make a way out of no way.”
Fans have been sending their best wishes to Tyrese and Samantha Gibson since the news of their divorce broke.
