Protests have been going on for the last 12 days in Nigeria as people take to the streets to demand an end to the Special Anti Robbery Squad (SARS) as well as a reform of the Nigerian police force.
So far, almost 80 people have been reportedly killed throughout the country, prompting celebrities to call for help and awareness from influential people.
Tiwa Savage was one of the celebrities who took to social media to ask Beyonce to lend her voice to the ongoing movement.
Now, she has finally shared a post, bringing awareness to the situation. That is not all as she also announced that she is working with youth organizations to support those protesting for change.
“I am heartbroken to see the senseless brutality taking place in Nigeria,” Beyonce wrote. “There has to be an end to SARS.”
“We have been working on partnerships with youth organizations to support those protesting for change. We are collaborating with coalitions to provide emergency healthcare, food and shelter. To our Nigerian sisters and brothers, we stand by you.”
