Photos of service dogs left in Afghanistan, who could belong to the US army, locked in cages, have gone viral, and everyone is heartbroken.
In the photo, about 15 large pet cages could be seen surrounded by broken and empty water bottles, as well as a destroyed helicopter in the background. The viral image was tweeted by Arturo Perez Reverte, a renowned Spanish writer, journalist and war correspondent.
According to his report, the US military soldiers had left service dogs in Afghanistan inside cages at the airport at the country’s capital.

Perez further accused, saying: “This is the payment for loyalty. The Americans left their service dogs caged and abandoned at the Kabul airport, where they went mad with hunger and thirst.”
Kabul Small Animal Rescue (KSAR), a rescue home in Afghanistan, said the case of the animals forgotten was due to the policies of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDD), which recently announced that it was ‘suspending the transport of dogs from Afghanistan and more than 100 other countries to the United States.’
The KSAR group had managed to secure a place where they intended to get the animals and several workers out of a shelter in Kabul for safety.
However, the Pentagon spokesman John Kirby claimed, “…the US Armed Forces did not leave any dogs in crates at Hamid Karzai International Airport, including the reported military working dogs.”
According to him, “The photos circulating online were of animals in the care of Kabul Small Animal Rescue, not dogs in [the US military] care.”
This disclaimer did nothing to mitigate the onslaught of criticism on the Joe Biden administration. Famous names came out in full attack mode to share what they thought of the action.
The Biden administration didn’t just abandon Americans in Afghanistan. They even abandoned hard-working service dogs!!! WTF

In the hasty withdrawal from Afghanistan, Joe Biden not only left Americans stranded, but also military dogs.
This is heartless, depraved, & cruel. #NoPawsLeftBehind pic.twitter.com/DOY1WzAm54
