Keeso was born in Listowel, Ontario, to Anne and Richard Keeso. His family owned and operated the Keeso Sawmill Company, which was founded in 1872. Keeso spent several years working in the sawmill before pulling out to embark on his acting career. Unfortunately, a fire destroyed the sawmill on 9 September 2018.
