The singer had a meeting with the Nigerian Police Spokesperson, Frank Mba in Abuja on Monday, 12 October.
During the meeting, Davido said he did not come for a closed-door meeting to which Mba responded, “How can you come here for a closed-door meeting when you were protesting?”
David immediately responded that he was not protesting. This could be heard in the live video which was streaming on Davido’s Instagram page.
This video is embarrassing. Davido don carry us handicap oo
Davido is denying that he was part of the #ENDSARS protest. He said he was in Abuja because of his fans and he came things down. But he didn't come to join the protest ?#SARSMUSTEND pic.twitter.com/jgPqBHBlbe— Kelvin Odanz (@MrOdanz) October 12, 2020
Shortly after that, the live video ended and members of the public could no longer see what was happening.
In the later hours of the day, Davido shared a lengthy statement denying that he said he didn’t go out to protest.
He also said that his comment was taken out of context. What he meant, he said, was that he did not go there to cause any trouble and only went to support his fans.

Most of these artistes are cowards. All they know about is displaying of nudes in their videos and to make money. The love of the masses is not in their mind. That’s the reason why they are still far from Fela Anikulapo Kuti.
Different excuses from here and there for why they can’t join protests.
When election comes around now, these artistes will be give millions to perform during primaries.
