Nigerian writer Chimamanda Adichie has reportedly lost her mum barely eight months after her father’s demise.
According to a report by The Guardian, Mrs Adichie died suddenly on Monday, 1 March 2021 in Awka, Anambra State.
She lived a fulfilling life and is survived by her six children: Ijeoma, Uchenna, Chuks, Okechukwu, Chimamanda and Kenechukwu; as well as nine grandchildren, in-laws and many relatives.
In June 2020, Adichie’s father, an erudite academic, passed away after he had been admitted at the Chira Memorial Hospital in Awkuzu, Oyi local government area of Anambra state.
The Emeritus Professor of Statistics and Mathematics at the University of Nigeria Nsukka (UNN) hailed from Abba, Njikoka local government area of Anambra State.

Funeral arrangements for Mrs. Adichie will be announced by her family at a later date.
