The tweet is Kanye West first since 1 January 2019.
Previously scheduled for a 27th then 29th September 2019 release, Jesus Is King is Kanye West’s ninth solo studio album.
The album will drop the same day that the film that Kanye West made to accompany the project will hit IMAX only cinemas across the world.
‘Jesus Is King’ sounds amazing! Kanye said the album is TENTATIVELY dropping on October 25.
As of yesterday, he was still working on new music, which sounds amazing. The IMAX film was very moving. He also read us scriptures.

The album signals Kanye West’s full attention to gospel music following his conversion to Christianity. His pastor, Adam Tyson, says at one time, that Kanye West even considered stopping rapping because “that’s the devil’s music.” But he was allegedly dissuaded by Tyson who tells him: “Hey, man. Rap is a genre. You can rap for God… ‘Hey, bro. I think you need to use your talents that God’s given you and use that platform for God.'”
For the accompanying Nick Knight-directed film, Kanye has released the trailer but it didn’t give much away. The trailer opens with a scripture verse paraphrased as “The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand; repent and believe in the gospel.”
According to the synopsis, the film “brings Kanye West’s famed Sunday Service to life in the Roden Crater, visionary artist James Turrell’s never-before-seen installation in Arizona’s Painted Desert.”
