The two women, who are both Latina singers, performed a medley of their greatest hits, and made history as the first Latinas to headline the Super Bowl halftime performance show.
Among the songs the two performed include Shakira’s ‘She Wolf,’ ‘Empire,’ ‘Whenever, Wherever,’ and “Hips Don’t Lie;’ and J.Lo’s ‘Jenny from the Block,’ ‘Get Right,’ and ‘On the Floor.’
The highlights of their performances were Shakira’s signature belly dancing, including a guitar and drum solo, after which she dived into the crowd.
JLo included a pole routine in her performance, proving that she’s still fit as ever at 50, and paying homage to her celebrated role in ‘Hustlers’.
At some point during the performance, JLo’s 11-year-old daughter, Emme joined her for a performance of ‘Let’s Get Loud’, as well as the opening part of Bruce Springsteen’s ‘Born in the USA’.
Their performance was so stunning that even hours after the performance, people are still taking to social media to talk about it, and about the two singers celebrating their roots – like Shakira celebrating her Arabic roots and JLo showing off Puerto Rican roots with a flag of the country.
