Mariah Carey has cleared the rumours circulating since Friday 4 June 2021 after British tabloid The Sun published a story about her and Jay-Z having an “explosive” meeting resulting in her leaving Roc Nation.
Carey, who signed to Roc Nation management in November 2017 after leaving her former manager Stella Bulochnikov, has revealed the rumours are false. While taking the time to remind people of the 1999 hit song, “Heartbreaker”, she made with Jay-Z.

She took to her Instagram page to set the record straight. Further noting that if ever there would be an ‘explosive situation’ between her and Hov, it would have to do with creating another monster jam.
She also warned everyone who loves to spread rumours to tone it down as she won’t be one of Jay-Z’s problems like they hoped.
Over the years, Mariah Carey and Jay-Z have had a couple of songs together including, “Things That U Do” from the rapper’s third studio album “Vol. 3… Life & Times Of S. Carter,” where she lent her beautiful vocals.

The duo also collaborated on Mariah Carey’s 2002 song “You Got Me,” alongside Freeway, off her ninth studio album “Charmbracelet.” They worked together on the official remix of her Hot 100 No. 2 hit, “Shake It Off,” with Jeezy, in 2005.
Mariah Carey has dropped her 30th-anniversary album “The Rarities” as well as her best-selling memoir ‘The Meaning of Mariah Carey,’ and her AppleTV+ Christmas special Mariah Carey’s Magical Christmas Special since joining Jay-Z’s imprint, Roc Nation.
However, Mariah Carey’s name is not on Roc Nation’s website, where an impressive lineup of stars are listed including, Alicia Keys, Rihanna, DJ Khaled, Moneybagg Yo, Christina Aguilera, Normani, The Dream, and more.
