Nigerians are reacting in shock on social media after the news of the 43 farmers beheaded near Zabarmari, Borno State by suspected Boko Haram members became public knowledge.
According to reports from HumAngle and Channels Television, the terrorists also kidnapped several others. The attackers were simply identified as ‘suspected Boko Haram’.
The farmers were returning from harvesting rice when they were ambushed. Civilian Joint Task Force that responded to the calls for help revealed that the 43 farmers were first shot at ‘close range’ and then beheaded.
There is no official report on the number of farmers that were taken away. The violent incident has left many social media users in shock, see what they are saying:
43 again from Maiduguri!
Innocent farmers died for trusting their country to leaders who promised, time without number to protect them.
More painful, oftentimes, is that no response, not even comments of acknowledgment from leaders.
God will not let this go unaccounted for.

The news on #ZabarmariMassacre is heartbreaking. 43 farmers, beheaded. Just like that. It’s national tragedy. It should force a change in the national security set up. It should be a reason to better protect Nigerians. The hopelessness is overwhelming.

So this same guys that beheaded 43 farmers in Borno state would be caught someday, then pampered, given milk and honey and rehabilitated to the glory of Allah and the Bandit’s Republic?
Goodluck to Nigeria.

The Federal Government, in a statement by Garba Shehu, expressed regret and shock over the news. The statement reaffirmed the government had given security forces the needed support to tackle the monstrous insecurity across the nation.
Nigeria, especially the North-East region, continues to reel under heavy attacks from terrorists, bandits and kidnappers.
He kept rehabilitating terrorists instead of fighting them.
This is complete and utter madness!
