After the presidential election was annulled some months ago due to mishandling of election materials and some other illegal activities surrounding the former election.
Uhuru Kenyatta who had won the earlier election claimed an emphatic victory again today after clinching 98 percent of the number of votes casted.
The election however had been the cause of crisis that saw one official of the country’s electoral body murdered with protests that threatened to escalate further had it not been for the intervention of the court. Yet after the court agreement, the closest rival to Kenyetta, Raila Odinga came out with only less than 1 percent of the casted votes.
Further analysis showed that less than 40 percent of the nation’s population of 19.6 million registered voters came out to vote in the election, with Raila Odinga pulling a crowd after his boycott of the event was announced.
