The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) says it has no biased interest in the request for recall of Sen Dino Melaye by some members of his constituency, Kogi West Federal constituency. The electoral body in stead insists that it’s discharging its mandate according to the law.
Furthermore, INEC head of national publicity, Solomon Soyebi also insinuated that the that the senator is evading service of the recall process and that the commission has unsuccessfully attempted to serve the senator the with a notice of recall on several occasions.
He said; “All attempts to serve the senator have been futile as he has made himself unavailable. The Bailiff of the High Court, accompanied by INEC officials have visited the office of the senator at the national assembly and his residence on six occasions but found the office locked. On resumption of the Senate after its recess, the senator refused to accept service of the documents”.
