This address came after almost two weeks of daily protests where Nigerian youths demanded the ban of the Special Anti Robbery Squad (SARS) as well as a solution to police brutality.
During his address, President Buhari spoke about a lot of things including the looting of the Oba of Lagos’ palace and TraderMoni but did not address what is now being known as the Lekki Toll Gate massacre.
After the speech, Nigerian youth expressed a range of emotions including heartbreak, sadness, fear, and a range of other emotions.
Some even said that the president shared a few subtle threats to protesters. Read his full speech here.
Reacting to the speech, Nigerian youth took to social media to share their emotions, with some like comedian, Mr Macaroni, expressing sadness.
Others made a lot of jokes about escaping from the country while many pointed out that now, SARS, which has been disbanded (some say this has been replaced with SWAT) will behave with more impunity.

As in, nobody has been fired? No body is being held accountable? Nothing about who gave the command to shoot at protesters or the investigation into who it was? Nothing about the actual scrapping of SWAT SARS and whatever else it wants to be called? Basically, NOTHING??
Oh Dear!
