During the #EndSARS protest, hoodlums hijacked the protests, acting under the guise of the movement to commit several heinous acts.
At the height of this violence, a jailbreak happened in Benin City, Edo State where a number of prisoners escaped from prison.
A similar jailbreak was attempted in Ikoyi Prison in Lagos State but was foiled before it could be successfully executed.
Now, Fisayo Soyombo is revealing that a number of inmates were killed while officers were trying to get the situation under control.
He also called on members of the public who have loved ones in prison to check up on them. He wrote:
“Just confirming that many inmates were killed in last week’s attempted jailbreak at Ikoyi Prison, even though it escaped the notice of mainstream media.
“If you have loved ones at Ikoyi Prison, you’d do well to physically check on them to confirm if they’re dead or alive.”
