A man carrying around carrying 1,000 cannabis joints, in his hurry to get home, clambered into a police patrol car mistaking it for a taxi.
Can you believe that? It’s the kind of thing you’ll expect to see in a Nollywood movie, only this time, it was all very real – no scripts, no cut, all action, real-time!
We mean, whoever in their right mind would mistake a police vehicle for a taxi on a good day much less when they were carrying drugs? On a second thought maybe they were not in their right mind, all those drugs you know… Kidding!
Right mind or not, it’s really one catastrophic error and we imagine the drug dealer at the centre of it all must be berating himself for his mistake. He now faces the prospect of a jail term for that momentous forgetfulness, according to the Local. Karma! The universe must have its pound of fresh.
The incident took place in Christiana, a part of Copenhagen known for its alternative lifestyle.
Sharing the news on their Twitter account, the Copenhagen Police say:
“Last night a cannabis dealer from Christiania who wanted to get home quickly got into a taxi. He received a big surprise when he realised it was actually a police car he was sitting in,” police writes.
“The police officers were happy to see him since he was carrying around 1,000 joints,” the tweet continues.
Police in the area have been clamping down on drug use in the enclave, which was established by hippie squatters 47 years ago.
