A statement delivered on Tuesday by Mr Kehinde Bamigbetan, the Commissioner for Information and Strategy said the declaration was to enable residents to come out en masse to welcome President Buhari.
Also, the commissioner of police in the state, Imohimi Edgal, on Tuesday, said there would be temporary road closure and diversions in some areas.
The routes to be closed are Ikeja, Agege, Maryland, Ikoyi, and Victoria Island.
Edgal said that President Buhari would be in Lagos on a two-day official visit on Thursday, 29th March 29 and Friday, 30th March. He would also tour the Eko Atlantic City and inaugurate the Ikeja Bus Terminal, among other engagements.
Edgal expressed deep regrets for any inconveniences, saying the listed roads would be reopened immediately after the President’s motorcade passes.
He advised motorists, commercial bus operators and commercial motorcycle riders to observe road diversions or use alternative routes.
