Arrested EndSARS protester, Eromosele ‘Eromz’ Adene has been officially freed after his bail conditions were met even as Nigerians have taken to social media platforms to celebrate.
Eromz (also spelled as Eroms) was released after spending 13 days in police detention for taking part in the #EndSARS peaceful protests. Lamenting the situation, Tola, one of the lawyer accused’s legal representatives said:
“Eroms was detained for 13 days without committing any offence – simply picked-up and detained. I don’t want to imagine the emotional strains his parents and loved ones have been under. Arrested for exercising his constitutional right by putting out a protest poster. Alarming!”
Eromz’s bail conditions had been set by the court on 17th November 2020 and it was met on 18th November 2020, according to Tola. The lawyer also gave updates of the entire process via his Twitter handle.
Around 6:02 pm, Tola finally made the announcement that many had been waiting for: “EROMS [Eromz] HAS BEEN RELEASED!” he tweeted.
