US President-elect Joe Biden is set to receive his second dose of Covid-19 vaccine today in a bid to allay his citizens’ fears of the safety of the vaccine.
According to an announcement made by his office on Monday, the incoming US president will be given the second of the vaccine following his first vaccination three weeks ago. The initial vaccination was broadcast live to the nation to calm frayed nerves and upturn doubts about the vaccine’s safety.
The United States has lost the most people to the COVID-19 pandemic and Joe Biden has promised to ‘move Heaven and Earth’ to ensure that his citizens are vaccinated against the virus. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention previously revealed that about 2.1 million people have been vaccinated.

There is the fact that a large part of the populace doesn’t trust the COVID-19 vaccines giving rise to a number of conspiracy theories spreading unfounded claims in public spaces.
Biden, 78, told Americans “there’s nothing to worry about” when he got his first dose of the Pfizer vaccine at the Christiana Hospital in Newark, Delaware on 21 December. His team said that his second jab would also be done in front of the media, without giving further details.
