The governor through his special assistant on Public Communications Lere Olayinka said the President’s action on the wanted former chairman of the Presidential Task Force on Pension Reforms who diverted N2 billion of public funds was something he did due to the outcries of Nigerians and as an afterthought.
Maina had been reinstated to his former position after he had fled the law for bring found guilty of fraud back in 2015. The governor took to his twitter handle to say:
“Fellow Nigerians are you now convinced that Buhari’s anti-corruption fight is like Satan calling Judas Iscariot a sinner?”
He went ahead to mention that Magu who is currently the EFCC boss was once indicted and Dr. Baru the NNPC Chairman is also under fire for awarding contracts without due process, all appointed by Buhari as examples of how the president ‘uses deodorant’ when fraud investigations concerned his friends and using ‘insecticides’ when it came to members of the opposition party.
