Nigeria has recorded an additional 1565 coronavirus cases according to the latest data released by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC).
The NCDC made the revelation during its nightly update on coronavirus in Nigeria via its Twitter handle on Thursday, 7 January 2021.
According to the centre, the total number of coronavirus infections in the country now stands at 95,934 confirmed. The centre also stated that 77,982 COVID-19 patients have recovered and been discharged. COVID-19 is the disease caused by the coronavirus, known formally as SARS-Cov-2.
Meanwhile, 1,330 people have died from COVID-19 related complications. This means that the active number of confirmed coronavirus infections in Nigeria as of Thursday night, 7 January is 16,622.
