Nigeria has recorded an additional 1114 coronavirus cases according to the latest data released by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC).
NCDC further revealed that Nigeria also recorded the highest COVID-19 death cases in the country since the pandemic started in the latest update.
The NCDC made the revelation during its nightly update on coronavirus in Nigeria via its Twitter handle on Friday, 29 January 2021.
According to the centre, the total number of coronavirus infections in the country now stands at 128,674 confirmed. The centre also stated that 102,780 COVID-19 patients have recovered and been discharged. COVID-19 is the disease caused by the coronavirus, known formally as SARS-Cov-2.
Meanwhile, 1,577 people have died from COVID-19 related complications. This means that the active number of confirmed coronavirus infections in Nigeria as of Friday night, 29 January is 24,317
