Nigeria has recorded an additional 300 coronavirus cases, according to the latest data released by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC).
The NCDC made the revelation during its nightly update on coronavirus in Nigeria via its Twitter handle on the 8th of November 2020.
The health agency also announced the discharged of 26 patients from isolation centres across the country.
The NCDC said that the country’s epicentre, Lagos State, reported 255 new COVID-19 cases, its highest number single-day infections since August 22.
According to the Centre, the total number of coronavirus infections in the country now stands at 64,090 confirmed. The Centre also stated that 59,910 COVID-19 patients have recovered and been discharged. COVID-19 is the disease caused by the coronavirus, known formally as SARS-Cov-2.
Meanwhile, 1,154 people have died from COVID-19 related complications. This means that the active number of confirmed coronavirus infections in Nigerians as of the night of Sunday 8th of November was 3, 026
