Nigeria has recorded an additional 179 coronavirus cases according to the latest data released by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC).
The NCDC made the revelation during its nightly update on coronavirus in Nigeria via its Twitter handle on Tuesday, 17 March 2021.
According to the center, the total number of coronavirus infections in the country now stands at 161,074 confirmed. The center also stated that 146,072 COVID-19 patients have recovered and have been discharged. COVID-19 is the disease caused by the coronavirus, known formally as SARS-Cov-2.
2,018 people have died from COVID-19 related complications. This means that the active number of confirmed coronavirus infections in Nigeria as of Tuesday night, 17 March is 12,984.
