Emergency workers who first arrived the scene reported that the La Paila river surged out of the boundary its bank provided and swept mud through the town of Corinto, carrying along boulders and branches. About 29 people were injured while a total of 243 families were affected.
4 people have been confirmed dead while there is still search for about 19 others in the area where climate change has been causing frequent mudslides like the one that occurred back in April that left 300 people dead.
