The incident was said to have taken place on the 19th November 2017 at the couple’s residence in Wuse Abuja. Sanda was subsequently charged to court by the police, who seek the death penalty. Following her plea of not guilty to two counts of culpable homicide and causing the deceased grievous hurt, Justice Yusuf Halilu of the Federal High Court Abuja remanded into Suleja Prison, Niger State, on the plea of her defence counsel.
Her case came up for hearing at the court today, but the judge denied her bail. Justice Yusuf also upheld claims of evidence tampering by the defendant.
Sanda came to the court with her breastfeeding daughter who she can be seen cuddling in court. Her mother Maimuna Sanda and her brother, Aliyu Sanda were also in court.
The case was adjourned t0 14 December 2017.
