American singer and record producer, Akon was in the news yesterday after his SUV was reported stolen from a gas station.
Akon’s SUV reportedly got stolen while he was refueling at a gas station in Atlanta. Apparently, he had left the car running while at the pump. Good news is, he was able to track and get it back with the help of his phone.
The reports surely begs the question; “why would anyone leave their car running anywhere when they aren’t within eyeshot?” To that, we have no answers. He may have hurriedly gone into the store for whatever reason.
As reported by FOX 5, “The crime reportedly happened at the QuikTrip on the 700 block of Sydney Marcus Boulevard shortly after midnight on Tuesday.” “It only takes a second for someone to jump in your vehicle and take off,” said the Atlanta Police Department’s Capt. Graham.

Akon however assisted the police in finding his car by using the “Find my iPhone” app. The SUV was found in Forest Park GA, roughly 25 minutes from where it was stolen. The culprit is yet to be apprehended, and the Atlanta Police Department has asked anyone with information to come forward.
One teachable moment in this story is, wherever and whoever you are, take better care of your properties. It’s a jungle out there.
Congrats.
