How Lord of the Rings anime prequel will play out

“The War of the Rohirrim” is a recently announced anime film from The Lord of the Rings franchise to be produced by Warner Bros. Animation and New Line Cinema. This news has no doubt stirred fans of the Middle Earth Universe, and we have got additional details about this project.

The anime will focus on events that happened before the first Lord of the Rings novel, “Fellowship of the Ring”, hence its name. According to a report from The Wrap, it is exactly 250 years before the formation of Gandalf’s ring hunting gang.

Helm Hammerhand, a legendary King of Rohan, referenced in J.R.R. Tolkein’s appendices, will take centre stage in “The War of the Rohirrim”. Thus, viewers will likely see the background of Helm’s Deep, a famed fortress. Additionally, it will feature the wars that set the tone for the original “Lord of the Rings” trilogy.
