Players at the 2018 World Cup will be banned for one match if they pick up two yellow cards before the quarter-final stage.
The list of players who have already picked up a yellow card going into the round of 16 is long, but some of the most prominent players in the world also fall into that category.
The likes of Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo, Neymar and Kevin de Bruyne also happen to fall into that category.
These players are very instrumental to their teams, so they need to be careful not to pick up any other yellow cards.
Messi was booked for time wasting against Nigeria and Ronaldo got one for throwing his arm against a marker.
Both players might actually face each other if they manage to win their next matches. Argentina against France and Portugal against Uruguay.
However, they could be watching from the sidelines if they are not disciplined.
Other high profile players that risk match bans include:
James Rodriguez, Mario Mandzukic, Casemiro and Philippe Coutinho.
hmmm. the world cup is getting intresting
sebi the yellow cards gets discarded after the group stages… not much risk then.
