At the Unscripted Awards night of the 2021 MTV Movie & TV Awards, BTS, “The Bachelorette”, and “RuPaul’s Drag Race” emerged winners. It marked the second night of the award show, with the previous night honouring films and scripted television shows.
The Best Music Documentary award went to behind-the-scenes of 2018–2019 Love Yourself World Tour by BTS, which they titled “BTS – Break the Silence: The Movie”. Its victory over other works like “Taylor Swift: Miss Americana”, “Demi Lovato: Dancing with the Devil”, “Framing Britney Spears”, and others is quite impressive.
“Jersey Shore: Family Vacation” beat people’s second favourite “Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta” to the Best Docu-Reality Show award. The show also got the MTV Reality Royalty Lifetime Achievement award.

Meanwhile, “The Bachelorette” was named the Best Dating Show, edging out other equally popular names like “90 Day Fiancé”, “Ex On The Beach”, and so on.

The most award of the night, three, went to “RuPaul’s Drag Race” as it swept up the Best Reality Cast, Best Competition Series, and Best Host awards (for RuPaul).
The baking show “Nailed It!” was named the Best Lifestyle Show while Selena Gomez’s cooking show “Selena + Chef” won the Best New Unscripted Series award.
“The Daily Show with Trevor Noah” was awarded the Best Talk/Topical Show ahead of “Red Table Talk”, “The Breakfast Club”, and other competitors. The revived “Kids Say the Darndest Things” lost the Best Comedy/Game Show award to “Impractical Jokers”.
Filipino-American beauty influencer Bretman Rock won the Breakthrough Social Star award at the Unscripted Awards night of the 2021 MTV Movie & TV Awards.
“Catfish: The TV Show” won Best Real-Life Mystery or Crime Series ahead of “Evil Lives Here”, “Night Stalker: The Hunt for a Serial Killer”, “Tiger King”, and “Unsolved Mysteries”.
British dating reality series “Love Island (UK)” was named the Best International Reality Series and the Best Fight went to sisters Kourtney Kardashian and Kim Kardashian West in “Keeping Up With The Kardashians”.
Scarlett Johansson got the MTV Generation Award while Sacha Baron Cohen won the Comedic Genius Award after he lost the Best Performance in a Movie award to Chadwick Boseman.
Nikki Glaser hosted the entertaining show as the golden popcorn was handed out to winners. There was also an exclusive look at the upcoming season of Jersey Shore at the event.
