‘Enola Homes’ is an upcoming mystery film that is based on a book series of the same name by Nancy Springer. The film follows Enola, played by Millie Bobby Brown, as she tries to evade her brother, find her mother, and save a young lord.
This film was directed by Harry Bradbeer and written by Jack Thorne.
Millie Bobby Brown plays the titular character and serves as a producer on the film. Appearing in supporting roles are Henry Cavill, Sam Claflin, Adeel Akhtar, Fiona Shaw, Frances de la Tour, Louis Partridge, Susie Wokoma and Helena Bonham Carter.
The film is highly controversial as Netflix is currently in the middle of a lawsuit over it. Fans also can’t get over Henry Cavill’s curls in the trailer.
Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s estate is suing Netflix, as well as Springer, Penguin Random House, and the film production company associated with the movie, over the representation of Sherlock Holmes, the main character in the famous authors equally popular series, ‘Sherlock Holmes’.
Although the majority of the books are already in the public domain, a series of 10 books are still owned by Doyle’s estate. They are now claiming that the defendants ran afoul of this copyright.
Nonetheless, the film is set to be released on 23 September on Netflix. Fans cannot wait to watch this exciting movie that has been anticipated from months.
It is important to note that ‘Enola Holmes’ was previously scheduled for a cinema release, but because of COVID-19, cinemas are still closed.
So, in April 2020, Netflix acquired the distribution rights to the movie from Warner Brothers Studios. Watch the trailer below and let us know in the comments section below if you will be watching the movie.
