Yes, Lakeith Stanfield and Daniel Kaluuya are coming together for a new movie on the life and assassination of Chairman Fred Hampton, the leader of the Illinois chapter of the Black Panthers political group.
In the recently released trailer of Judas and the Black Messiah, Daniel Kaluuya put on a convincing performance as Fred Hampton with convincing performances from Daniel Kaluuya and Dominique Fishback.
Judas and the Black Messiah tells the true story of Fred Hampton’s rise to power in the Illinois Black Panthers.
But Hampton’s ascension catches the eye of the U.S. government, who then leans on someone in Hampton’s inner circle, William O’Neal (Lakeith Stanfield), to get agents close enough to pull off a raid that led to the man’s assassination.
The movie was directed and produced by Shaka King, written by King and Will Berson, based on a story by King, Berson, and Kenny and Keith Lucas.
Judas and the Black Messiah is set for release in 2021. Watch the trailer below and let us know if you will be watching this film when it is out.
