Trailer Thursday: Adesua Etomi-Wellington wields a sword in ‘Muna’

It’s Trailer Thursday again, and this time, we’re here with Adesua Etomi-Wellington‘s action flick, Muna.

The first glimpses of the film were shared in June 2019 when the trailer was first released. The unconventional nature of the film caught the public’s attention and it quickly went viral on social media.

First views of the film have been great, and Adesua, who is usually seen in romance or thriller movies, stepped out of her shell and showed off some martial arts moves.

Of course, you can’t execute a complete martial arts move without a sword of some sort, and Adesua’s looks wicked sharp.

Adesua’s training at the City College, Coventry, the United Kingdom where she obtained a diploma in physical theatre, musical theatre and performing arts proved very useful in this film.

Since the trailer’s release, accolades have been pouring in from her colleagues and her fans alike.

Now, it’s time to bring it back to your notice, as the movie will soon be released in the cinema.

‘MUNA’ is the story of a spirited girl raised by her grandmother; the last surviving member of their family.

Muna’s driving desire to provide a better life for herself and grandmother in the land of milk and honey leads to shady characters that will change the trajectory. Landing her smack dab into the hands of traffickers.

That experience turns her once golden heart into one driven by stone-cold revenge on those who stole her innocence. In her grand plan, love was never on the agenda.

When secrets and betrayal complicate her strategy, she has a tough decision to make. Will she remain a prisoner of her past or allow love to set her free?

Muna sheds a spotlight on human trafficking and shows a victim who fights to get revenge.

In addition to Adesua Etomi-Wellington, other cast members include Onyeka Onwenu, Falz, Ebele Okaro, Andrew Onochie, Ikpomwosa Gold, Kor Boakye, Charles Osiegbu, Steve Wilder, Adam Huss, Robert Miano, and Camille Winbush amongst others.

The story is by award-winning author Unoma Nwankwor, screenplay by Kevin Nwankwor, Joe Leone, Liam Parry and directed by Kevin Nkem Nwankor.

You would recall that earlier this year, Vogue magazine spotlighted Adesua alongside Léa Seydoux, Eiza González, Elizabeth Debicki, Angelababy, Deepika Padukone, Bruna Marquezine, and Doona Bae as one of the most famous actresses in the World.

It would appear that the actress is attempting to live up to the accolade, going by this trailer.

Muna is set to be in theatres tomorrow, 6 December. Will you be watching?
