The vice president of Marvel Studios, Victoria Alsonso, has stated that the company will not use a digital double for late Chadwick Boseman in Black Panther 2.
There were rumours that there will be a digitally created Chadwick Boseman in Black Panther 2. However, it turns out that Marvel Studios will not be taking that road. In a statement credited to the Marvel Studios vice president, Victoria Alsonso, she assured fans of the actor that a machine will not replace him.
“There’s only one Chadwick, and he’s not with us. Our king, unfortunately, has died in real life, not just in fiction, and we are taking a little time to see how we return to the story and what we do to honour this chapter of what has happened to us that was so unexpected, so painful, so terrible, really,” Alonso said.

What then will Marvel do? There is not much information about that yet. But the company is not taking the decision lightly. “[We] have to think carefully about what we are going to do, and how, and think about how we are going to honour the franchise,” Marvel’s VP further said.
There are reports that Ryan Coogler has written a screenplay for Black Panther 2 and that it focuses on the King, T’Challa. Whatever Marvel Studios decides to do with the sequel, we hope the world will love it as much as the first story.
When Paul Walker died before the producers could make Fast and Furious 7, they took unused scenes from previous Fast & Furious movies to create a digital version of him. However, while this may have been seen as successful, it is certainly hurtful to replace a once leaving, breathing person with a computerised replica.
I can’t see Black Panther without remembering Chadwick. Well done Marvel.
Right call but we’ll see.
Sure ?
Rightly said.. there’s only one chadwick.
