Spain unveils naked statue in honour of Barcelona legend, Andres Iniesta [PHOTOS]

Spain has unveiled a new statue in honour of Barcelona football legend, Andres Iniesta and it is quite the statue.

This was done to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the country’s 2010 victory over the Netherlands in the FIFA World Cup held in South Africa.

Barcelona legend, Iniesta, now playing in Japan, was the hero that night in Johannesburg as he struck four minutes from the end of extra-time to secure Spain’s World Cup success.

This would be all well and good and not weird at all if the statue was not completely naked. It brings to mind the nude statues by the famous sculptor Michelangelo.

His hometown of Albacete has now come out with a statue mirroring his pose as he struck the winning goal that night. The statue was meant to be unveiled on 10 July but has been postponed due to the Coronavirus.

See some pictures of the statue below and share your thoughts with us in the comments section below.

  5. Does he have to be naked? Does the statue show his manhood? It does.
