According to internal sources, New Line Cinema is in talks to release a US remake of “Train to Busan”, a South Korean horror film. Indonesian master of horror and director of Netflix martial arts film “The Night Comes For Us” Timo Tjahjanto is being touted as the director already.
Train to Busan and its sequel “Peninsula” (or Train to Busan 2) are highly successful zombie apocalypse films. The first release in 2016 broke the record to become the first Korean film to pull a crowd of over 10 million people to the theatres.
Train to Busan takes place on a train to Busan amidst a zombie infection breakout with an infected passenger putting all others aboard the train at risk.
The remake will have James Wan, the producer of most of the “Saw” film franchise, on board. Also, Gary Dauberman will write the screenplay. Dauberman and Wan had previously worked together on all the “Annabelle” movies in Wan’s “Conjuring” universe, and he wrote the screenplay for “It” and “It: Chapter Two”.

While the film does not have a release date yet, the people working behind the scenes have impressive resumés that inspire confidence. Yet, there is an understandable apprehension if the US Train to Busan remake will be worth it or not.

For example, Old Boy, a f-----g phenomenal movie that’s in my personal top 10. The american remake was a pile of steaming garbage.

Bruh lame af. Americans ruin alot of foreign movies. Godzilla king of monsters in 56′, Oldboy, Grudge and the Ring are just a couple of examples. I understand to reach a broader audience in the US but you dont have to remake them maybe a dub maybe a sub with a re-release
