Cristiano Ronaldo got his scoring boots back on after recovering from coronavirus to net a brace in Juventus 4-1 win over Spezia on Sunday in Serie A.
The scoreline saw Juventus returned to winning ways after playing back-to-back draws against Crotone and Verona.
Scoring four goals also means they the Italian champions get to plant 800 trees — the splendid consequence of an initiative, which will see the Bianconeri plant, alongside One Tree Planted, 200 trees for each goal scored this season.
Morata opened the scoring although it had to be carefully reviewed for offside as Mckenzie had squared for him to slot into an empty net.
Rabiot also got on the scoresheet while Cristiano Ronaldo’s brace, gave all three points to the Lady, on her 123rd birthday.
Cristiano Ronaldo was introduced in the second half of the match, replacing Paulo Dybala, and it took the Portuguese only three minutes to register his account. He received a pass from Morata in the area, rounded Provedel, and slid the ball comfortably into the net.
His second goal came from the penalty spot after Bartolomei’s clumsy challenge on Federico Chiesa in the penalty box gifted Juve another opportunity.
Ronaldo scored with a panenka chip to secure a brace, his fifth league goal, and seal the three points on the Lady’s birthday.
Udinese 1-2 AC Milan: Zlatan Ibrahimovic with a classic overhead kick to keep Milan on top of the table
Zlatan Ibrahimovic scored an acrobatic late winner to AC Milan on top of the Serie A table as they kept their unbeaten streak in the Italian division intact with a 2-1 triumph over Udinese.
Ibrahimovic was involved with Milan’s opener as he set up Franck Kessie to score after some fine hold-up play.
Milan managed to hold on to the lead until half-time but as soon as the second half resumed, Alessio Romagnoli fell Ignacio Pussetto in the box, with Rodrigo de Paul converting the resulting set-piece.
However, Zlatan Ibrahimovic produced a beautiful winner with just seven minutes left to play. He latched on to a miscued attempted clearance by Sebastian De Maio, beating keeper Juan Musso with a bicycle.
Milan are now four points ahead of defending champions Juventus.
Ibrahimovic expressed delight with his current form, and said his younger team-mates make him feel young again.
“With my confidence, I expected it,” he says after the match.
“It’s not been perfect, I missed a few penalties and a few too many chances. But things are fine.”
“We are a young team, I raise the average a little but they make me feel young. We work hard, we believe in something and we train well. They are so hungry, so eager, never satisfied in the match or in a training session.”
