Pulisic banned from Winning man of the match award due to International alcohol laws

Pulisic starred for Dortmund against Liverpool in the International Champions Cup in Charlotte, North Carolina.

The teenager was clearly the most outstanding player on the pitch scoring two goals and playing a huge part in creating the third in his side’s 3-1 victory.

His performance would have easily earned him the man of the match award but unfortunately there was one problem. Pulisic was too young.

The award was sponsored by Heineken and tournament organisers who felt that the 19-year-old was ineligible to receive it because the legal drinking age in the United States is 21.

The award was instead given to Virgil van Dijk who scored Liverpool’s only goal.
