Arsenal captain, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, has responded to criticism by Real Madrid’s Germany International Toni Kroos of his choice of goal celebration.
Kroos called out the Arsenal striker for bringing out a Black Panther-inspired mask to celebrate his goal against Rennes in the Europa League in March last year, insisting that the 31-year-old was not a good role model.
“Aubameyang once celebrated and took out a mask. That’s where it ends with me.
“I don’t think that’s a good role model either. What nonsense,” Kroos told the Einfach mal Luppen podcast via Sport Bild.

Having initially ignored Kroos’ comments, Aubameyang then took to social media to respond to the former Bayern Munich man.
In his response, he tweeted a caricature of himself drawn by a school pupil asked to create art based on the meaning of happiness, along with a quote.
“By the way. Does this @ToniKroos have Kids? Just to remember I did it for my son a few times and I will do it again.
“I wish you have Kids one day and make them happy like these Junior School pupils. Talk and don’t Forget #maskon #staysafe.”

Currently on international duty, the former Borussia Dortmund striker sealed Gabon’s 2-1 victory over the Gambia with a goal in Thursday’s 2022 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying fixture.
