The actress shared the good news and certificate of the award on her Instagram.

Alter Ego is a Sidomex Universal production. The movie was directed by Moses Inwang and focused on Child sexual abuse. It also sought to bring attention to depression and post-traumatic stress disorder. Actress, Omotola had also made it known that those issues were what attracted her to the role of Ada Igwe, the protagonist in the movie.; enough to draw her out of her three-year hiatus from acting. Invariably, the passion, commitment and talent to story saw her emerge as viewers choice for the winner of the Best Actress category at NTFF.
The NTFF seeks to bring Nollywood to a broader global audience, according to the organisers of the event. Some of the movies that also screened during the festival included AY Makun’s ’10 Days in Sun City’, “Kada Rive”, Óloibiri’ produced by Rogers Ofime, ‘Lost in London’ by Uduak Isong, ‘Excess Luggage’ by IK Ogbonna, and Walt Banger’s ‘Catch-er’. Others included ‘Slow Country’ by Eric Aghimien, ‘Lotanna’ by Ifeanyi Micheal, ‘Mansoor’ produced by Ali Nuhu and ‘Kada River’ by Toka McBaror were also selected. ‘Unveil’ produced by Vivian Williams and ‘Esohe’ which was produced by Charles Uwagbale joins the list of movies to be screened at the festival.
We had earlier reported that the NTFF was scheduled to take advantage of the also just concluded Toronto International Film Festival. Nollywood actress and filmmaker Omoni Oboli was an ambassador for TIFF.
