Nigerian-American author Nnedi Okorafor is set to divesting into visual storytelling. Get ready Hollywood!
The writer, known for writing about fantasy and science fiction for both children and adults based on African mythology and culture, has reportedly announced that she’s floating her very own production company, Africanfuturism Productions, Inc. The outfit will focus on television series production because “films are too restrictive.”
However, details of the production company are still very sketchy but we do expect some scintillating black art, culture and sci-fi stuff. It’s Nnedi Okarafor we’re talking about after all.
The writer already has so many ongoing projects: Her novel, Who Fears Death is being produced by Games of Thrones’ George R.R. Martin for HBO; and she is writing the script for Viola Davis’ Wild Seed, along with Rafiki director, Wanuri Kahiu. Exciting times.
?I can finally publicly talk about it. We’re developing WILD SEED! ?!! https://t.co/gZT5XS1icc
